The pesticides used in conventional farming form a residue on the fruits and vegetables. These chemicals are not removed even after proper washing. Consuming such foods can be damaging to your health. Organic foods are a better choice as they are free from harmful chemicals and pesticides.

These foods contain minerals and salts that make them more nutritious than non organic foods.

In conventional farming, most farmers use chemicals to maximize profits and to increase the produce. Organic farming does not involve artificial methods and so lesser produce. The cost of production of organic foods is more than non organic foods and therefore organic foods are more expensive.

Limited Range
Organic foods are not available in all localities. Also the selection is limited in some areas. The limited range and unavailability of some organic products is a drawback.

Shelf Life is less
Organic foods cannot be stored for a long time as they do not contain preservatives. It’s a waste of money if the food does not last long.
Some foods sold as organic foods may not be all natural as they claim. It is best to buy products that are made as per the standards by the trusted food labels.

The Future of Organic Food
There has been a rise in the sales of organic foods and it is likely to continue in the future. The advantages are far more than the disadvantages and an increasing number of people are opting for organic foods. One need not go all organic but including these foods in your daily diet can prove beneficial.
